City Engineer Proposed 30 KM/H School Zone - Victoria from Toronto to Apel (Public Works Committee Meeting of January 21, 1992) 4. That Council approve the designation of a 30 km/h school zone on Victoria Drive from Toronto Street to Apel Drive. The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum from the Project/Traffic Technician dated December 16, 1991 noting that Victoria Avenue between Toronto and Apel does not have the reduced school zone speed limit of 30 kph even though Victoria borders onto Leigh Elementary School. It is noted that under the City’s school zone policies, in situation where a road fronts a school yard that has no fence, the speed is posted for 30 km/h. As the southern boundary of Leigh Elernentary School is not fenced, it is recommended that Victoria Drive from Toronto Street to Apel Drive be posted for vehicular speed of 30 km/h. LM OK LR.
