The stage is set, the lights are
dim and the aroma of coffee is
making its way around the room.
You can hear guitars being tuned,
performers practising their lyrics.

The NWCC Students’ Associ-

ation (NWCCSA) invites you to
take in our first Coffee House of,
hopefully, many this season. It’s
just one of our 1991 orientation
events for our students. We also
welcome the public to take part
and see what we are doing on
_ campus.

Many local performers, including
our very own NWCC students, will
be sharing their talents for your
entertainment. If you or anyone
you know would like to join in for

Here’s to

Unafraid to blatantly express my
opinions. Blatantly, and with abandon.

I feel pretty safe this afternoon. No
fear of losing my job for penning
something outrageous. If I chose to,
that is.

Today I can say anything.

Why? Because today is the last chance I'll have to say it. This is the
last Wednesday for Fae with the Terrace Review.

“Saving the best

I always like 10 save the best for the last. And so, in this last
column — here’s to the best —
The best little newspaper in the west — this is it.

The best of everything ;
The best things in life — they really are free. Here’s to the best of

everything. The best pick-me-up — exploring something new, and
sharing it. The best day of the week — Wednesday, with you.

The best place to live — Terrace. The best name for a Terrace
dweller — Terracite. The best name for a temporary Terrace dweller
— Terrarist. The best place to be in summer — Terrace. The best
place in winter not to be ~~ Terrace. The best place to be on a rainy
day — home, with a mug of hot cocoa. a

Best shade of red — Skeena-caught salmon.
* Best shade of orange — sunset over Sleeping Beauty.
* Best shade of yellow — banks of wildflowers along roadsides. -
¢ Best shade of green — first leaves of May.
+ Best shade of blue — that broad sky on a cloudless day.
° Best shade of purple — mountain splendour on misty mornings.
My personal best
From my Wednesday wanderings around town I discovered some of

_ the best of Terrace. But space is limited, and so here I list just a few

(with my best apologies to everyone not mentioned):

Be spontaneous. Your instincts will lead you in

the right direction. Romance will blossom with
_ proper attention,

Substantial gains can be made if you act wisely.

Member of the opposite sex will involve you in

financial project.

You must make a decision regarding your

priorities. Look for answers within, Be selective

about any upcoming career moves.

If work is no longer as rewarding as you would

like, this would be a good time to consider career

move, Leap with caution.

A newcomer may make life difficult for a short

time, but these problems can be overcome. Ex-

ert a little patience.

Go all out—no holds barred. Invest in new ward-

robe; make large purchase. Funds may not be

available in the near future,

It is important to show a brave front at this time.

Certain events may not be within your power to

control,

Monetary problems will compound if they

haven'( already. Expect to have to tighten your —

belt until they improve.

Be yourself. Do not try to impress one who is

easily impressed by being something you are net.

Just because partner has been busy is no reason

for you to be unsocial. Look up old friends and

go out for a fun evening.

Co-worker may ask for your assistance. Be

generous with your time. Your efforts will be - .

Petty family disagreements gel in the way of

familial unity. Try to bring feuding parties

together before it is too late.

For the best financial assistance — it’s from Terry (at the Credit _
Union). .

Best place to buy a five dollar reward for losing a.pound — Ash-
bury’s. The best place for tea and talk and forgetting to diet — The
Quarterdeck. a ,

For a dynamic, health-conscious conversation it’s at Grethe’s
(Dynamic Health Service).

Included here are my personal best wishes to Kay, ‘the best
salesperson and cashier in town (at Woolworth’s).

And the best person to see before leaving town — Margaret (at
Terrace Travel). ;

Last but not least .

Some of the best Wednesday things I received — from you: en-
couragement and praise; admonishment, even correction. Gentle
reminders, bright ideas, helpful suggestions, souvenirs, memories...
And best of all — friendship. oo

From you I learned some of the best things. The best lesson learned
— letting go. The best observation — take nothing for granted, The
best experience — being asked for an interview. The best surprise —
a fan letter. The best hug — Jim’s (the hug that ends with a kiss).

- The best rainbow — Sonea’s (it represented hope). The best advice

— Scott’s (never give up).

The best things discovered from writing my weekly column: The
best medicine — it really is love and laughter. The best time —
yesterday, today, tomorrow. The best neighbours — you.

The best thank you — I hope I’ve expressed it.

Wednesday with you — it’s been the best of everything.
