February 22nd, 1982. A special meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on February 22nd, 1982 at 4:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.D. Gates, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, A.K. Muldoon, D.J. Vater, and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer B.R. Kirk, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng., Assistant City Engineer T. Chong, City Treasurer J.G.S. Maitiand, Director of Community Planning W. Brown, Recreation Director K.J. Taylor, Works & Utilities Superintendent G.W. Ulmer and Recording Secretary D. Vyse. Acing-Mayor G.R. Laking assumed the Chair in the temporary absence of Mayor Traboulay. BYLAWS: The City Clerk advised Bylaw No. 1884 was available for final B/L 1884 - Council Indemnity - reading at this time. Tabled. Alderman Wright referred to recent Provincial expenditure guidelines and suggested Bylaw No. 1884 be re-examined. Moved by Alderman Wright: Seconded by Alderman Muldoon: That final. reading of Bylaw No. 1884 be tabled. Carried. Aldermen Vater and Mabbett voted against the resolution. DELEGATIONS: Delegations: . . Ald. Doreen Alderman Laking introduced Alderman Doreen Lawson, a member of the Lawson re executive of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, who then made a FCM Membership. presentation to Council regarding membership in the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. At 4:50 p.m. Mayor Traboulay and Alderman Gates entered the Council Chamber and Mayor Traboulay assumed the Chair and Alderman Gates took his place at the table. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That the City’s membership in the Federation of Canadian Municipalities be discontinued effective March 3lst, 1982. Carried. Mayor Traboulay and Aldermen Vater and Wright voted against the resolution.
