SUBJECT: Approval in Principle ~ Computerized
Integrated Information System (CTIDS)

RECOMMENDATION

That the District of Coquitlam agree to the
implementation of the Computerized Integrated
Information and Dispatch System (CIIDS) at the
Coquitlam R.C.M.P. Detachment.

Background

The R.C.M.P. are currently in the planning and
testing stage of a new computer system to replace the
axisting Computer Aided Dispatch System originally
installed 15 years ago with an expected life at that
time of only 10 years.

CLIDS was developed with funding provided by the
Padercal Government and this development was done at a
cost ef $4,000,000.09 at no cost to municipalities.

It is proposed that the aystem is to be installed and
operational in Burnaby by September of 1991 with a
proposal to install in Coquitlam sometime in 1992 or

1993.
