DISTRICT OF COQUITLAM TUEY BRUNETTE AVENUE, COQUITLAM, B.C. PHONE 526-3611 MAYOR J.L. TONN September 6, 1972 \ VAT T COURCIL a iy. Ron Mann, Mr. K. Stinson, Plannina Consultant, Planning Officer, City of Port Moody, City of Port Coquitlam, ' #303, 2515 Burrard Street, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. Port Coquitlam, B.C. Dear Sirs: re: New B.C. Hydro Lines & Substation Site in the District of Coquitlam Please find attached a copy of a map that will appear in the newsnapers noxt week in regard to a public meeting to discuss Hydro lines and a new substation sit: at the north-easterly end of Haude Road in the District. I would ask that you pass on the information to your Councils on the liydro lines which are proposed and the ones to be abandoned. 1 would note particularly in the case of the City of Port Coquitlam that the line along Fremont Street down to the Pitt Substation would be abandoned under the proposals which have been negotiated between ourselves and B.C. Hydro. ‘I had already alerted Ken to this possibility. ; '.I would note that the access to the new proposed site would be through the City of Port Moody by way of Ioco Road and cither Water Street or by way of Anmore, This should not present a real problem to the City except for the Short perfed of tine when they move transformers into the site which involve heavy loads, Other than that, it would Simply be a case of servicing the site. B.C. Hydro will be discussing the question with the Department of Highvays on majatenance of an access road through Anmore and through the Crown land to the proposed site of the substation. If you have any questions on the proposals in advance of the meeting, please be in touch with me. ‘Yours truly, DS ota. DMB/c4 D.M. Buchanan Encl. Planning Director
