PROPERTY TAX PAYMENTS

The Corporation of Richmond is offering a service to the taxpayers that has been requested for
years. Starting in July 1986, the Corporation of Richmond will accept monthly payments
towards taxpayers’ 1987 tax bill. if a taxpayer joins the plan, these payments will automatically
be charged to a taxpayer's bank account monthly from July 31 through May 31. If a taxpayer
wishes to make other payments towards the next year's taxes,the same interest credits as the
monthly payrnent will be credited to the tax account. The Corporation will pay tax-free interest
on the daily balance in a taxpayer's account. This interest will be compounded once only on
“January 1st of each year. The taxpayer will be responsible for making the final paymentin June
of every year and for claiming the Home Owner Grant, if applicable. The tax bill that is mailed
in May of every year for payment by the end of June will show the amount paid with accrued
