A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City
of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall,
2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, April 9, 1990, at
7:30 p.m. .

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates,
J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart and M.R. Wright, in attendance.

Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk R.A.
Freeman, Director of Community Planning C.R. Felip, Acting City Engineer D.G.
Riecken, City Treasurer J.G. Maitland and Personnel Director V. van Meel.

That the minutes of the Regular Council meeting heid on April 2nd, 1990 be
taken as read and adopted.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION:

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Cliff Cousins, Utility
Foreman for the City of Port Coquitlam and thanked Mr. Cousins for his
excellent service to the City and presented Mr. Cousins with a 25 year service
pin.

His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Ms. Joy Gallop and Ms. Tracy
Johnston of the Port Coquitlam Welcome Wagon. The Welcome Wagon is
celebrating its 60th Anniversary.

WHEREAS : Welcome Wagon is now celebrating its Diamond Jubilee marking 60
years of service to individuals and communities all across Canada;

WHEREAS : The ideals of Welcome Wagon represent service to community,
individuals and households;

WHEREAS : Welcome Wagon extends its service of neighborly hospitality to
moving families, the newly engaged, and new parents, promoting
general goodwill and helpfulness to all our residents, both those
of longstanding and those new to our community;

The City of Port Coquitlam highly values and esteems the many
services of Welcome Wagon to our households, all places of
worship, civic and municipal programmes and many community-minded
business firms;

NOW THEREFORE:
I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of
Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of April 16 to 20,
1990

"WELCOME WAGON WEEK" in the City of Port Coquitlan.
