TERRACE — The Canada Day
celebrations at Heritage Park
delighted thousands as activities
and displays provided hours of
enjoyment. = co
The day, beginning with a
pancake breakfast, was filled
with scheduled events-including
a horseshoe tournament, a tug
of war, races, a music review,

dancing, and many other in-
teresting events.

Terrace residents attended in
large numbers to wish the coun-
‘try a happy birthday, spirits
were high and the weather was
cooperative. .

Participants in the festivities
were also given the opportunity
,to attend ceremonies, like the

maple tree planting ceremony;

‘take advantage of culinary

delights, like those cooked up at
the barbeque; and buy different
types of souveniers. “

The celebration was then top-
ped off with a fireworks display.
to finish the day-long salute to
Canada.

Dwayne Rildler of the Kermode Box-
Ing Club tantalized noses in every
diréction with the aroma of sizzling
salmon steaks while the crowds
came and went on Canada Day. The
successful luncheon offering in
Heritage Park was a fund-raising ef.
fort by the boxing club.

The 4H Club sponge-throw offered
during Canada Day celebrations at
Heritage Park proved to be a popular
attraction for cooling off while giving
frends an opportunity for a bit of
harmless revenge.
