Prior to passage of the resolution noted above, Aldermen Traboulay and Laking re-stated their opposition to the By~law and various members of Council expressed views in support thereof. Alderman Traboulay suggested that a second Public Hearing on this matter be held but this did not receive favourable consideration. NEW BUSINESS: From the City Administrator, February 3rd, 1975, referring to the proposed 1975 Union Contract for "Inside" and "Outside" employees, and recommending that the Contract previously discussed by the Council in Committee be ratified. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the Agreement between The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local No. 498, wherein the wages, salaries, hours of work, and other conditions of employment to be observed during the period January lst, 1975 to December 31st, 1975, for the employees of the City for whom the Union is certified as Bargaining Agent, are set out, be approved; AND THAT the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the said Agreement on behalf of the City and affix the Corporate Seal thereto.
