Carried, From the Land Sale Committee, August 2nd, 1974, advising for information Land Sale Comm.re that representatives of the Greater Vancouver Regional District Housing Depart- GVRD housingg dev.-Cst.M. ment discussed the land sale and exchange required for their housing development Road on Coast Meridian Road: however, as there is a disagreement between the City and the Housing Department on the valuation of the land the G.V.R.D. representatives will be in touch with the City's Appraiser to discuss land values in the area and the Committee will meet further on this matter. From the Land Sale Committee, August 2nd, 1974, advising of a request recei~ Land Sale Comm.re Cit ved to consider selling land located on Chester Street for incorporation into a property- Chester St. proposed subdivision with lots fronting on Perth Street, and that following a re- view of an appraisal, the Committee has determined that the net value of the City ~owned land plus a portion of Perth Street required for the development is $70,000.00. Moved by Alderman Lakins: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as recommended in a report from the Land Sale Committee, August 2nd, 1974, the City-owned land on Chester Street be offered for sale and the portion of Perth Street necessary for the development be abandoned and also offered for sale provided that it can be incorporated in with Lots 4 to 10, Block 1, D.L. 465, Plan 2364 for development purposes. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution, Alderman Ranger @rentioned that he was not against selling the property in view of its awkward shape and the fact that the applicant's property is presently “locked-in", but that he was against selling at this time in the event Chester Street is developed as a major street, and he proposed the following motion:
