Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as recommended by the City Administrator, March 2lst, 1980 the By-law Officer, Mr. R.G. Criggie, be authorized to attend the Licence Inspectors’ Seminar to be held in Victoria, B.C. on May 15th and i6th, 1980; AND THAT his necessary expenses Incurred therewith be paid by the City. Carried. Alderman Wright asked that people attending conferences and seminars submit a short report and any pertinent data they may receive for Council's information. Rec. Director, From the Recreation Director, March 24th, 1980 regarding the costs ‘Mar. 24/80 re Old Timers' for the Old Timers' Hockey Tournament to be held October llth. L2th. -Hockey Tourn. ‘rates. 13th and 14th, 1980. The City Clerk received a letter from the Port Coquitlam Old Timers' Recreational Hockey League just prior to the meeting requesting that they be given a 50% discount on their rates for the tournament. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That the rates suggested by the Port Coquitlam Old Timers' Recreation League, March 24th, 1980 being $22.50 for 96 hours of use and the full rate of $45.00 for 20 hours on the Scatutory Holiday, October 13th, 1980 for a total cost of $3,060.00, be approved. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution a lengthy discussion ensued on the request for subsidized rates. Mr. G, Stidolph, Mr. B. Smith and Mr. D, Madden were present to answer Council's inquiries.
