Re: Council Resolutions for UBCM Convention JUN 16

Five résolutions ware presented by the Port Coquitlam delegates.

to the Thursday, June 12th, 1975 meeting of the Lower Mainland Municipal

Association held in Chilliwack and the complete text of these five resolutions

is. set out on _the reverse side of this memorandum.

The “following. actions were taken by the Association on the City's

resolutions: |

“dd. Installment Collection of Taxes ~ this resolution was endorsed and

“will be forwarded to the U.B.C.M.:

2. , Fair Taxation- of Mobile Homes — this resolution was amended to add

the three words “on market value" to the end of the resolution and was then

‘endorsed and will be forwarded to the U.B.C.M.

3. . Raising of Maximum Fine ~ Curfew - this resolution was endorsed and

7 will be forwarded to the U-B.C.M.

4c - Firearm Legislation ~ this ‘resolution was referred to the L.M.M.A,

Executive and. legal advisors for re-wording and submittal to the U. B. C.M.

5. a Income Tax Deductions — Property Taxes ~ this resolution was not

endorsed. Despite the non-endorsement by the L.M.M.A. the Council still has
-the option of forwarding this resolution directly to the U.B.C.M. and we would

ask whether the Council wishes to exercise this alternative.
