March 22, 1993092 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, March 22nd, 1993, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Councillors, M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, R.H. Talbot, M.A. Thompson, and M.R. Wright were in attendance. Als> in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk S. Rauh, City Engineer ILR. Zahynacz, and Director of Planning C. Felip. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES; Moved by Councillor Keryluk: Seconded by Councillor Gordon: That the min=tes of the Regular Council meeting held on March 15th, 1993 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. PROCLAMATIONS: WHEREAS National Wildlife Week was created by an Act of Parliament in 1947 to create awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation in Canada; WHEREAS the Canadian Wildlife Federation hopes that "National Wildlife Week" will increase participation at a community level in active conservation, WHEREAS conservation of wildlife habitat is necessary to ensure the continued survival of Canada’s plants and animals; WHEREAS wildlife belongs to all people and should be conserved for the benefit of future generations; AND WHEREAS the theme chosen for this year’s National Wildlife Week is "Keep Canada Ever Green for Wildlife" which focuses on taking action to conserve Canada’s wildlife resources; NOW THEREFORE Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of April 4th to 10th, 1993 as "NATIONAL WILDLIFE WEEK" in the City of Port Coquitlam and urge all citizens to participate in initiating projects which will improve wildlife habitat in the City.
