Women who use the IUD or
rhythm methods of birth
control seem to runa slightly
higher risk of having
unhealthy bables when they
do get pregnant, anew study
concludes.

But, in a result the head of
the study called ‘puzzling,’

traceptive pill seema to
slightly decrease the risk of
infant death. —

The findings are part of a
four-year study of factors af-
fecting the outcome of preg-
nancy directed by Dr.
George Tokuhata, an

epidemiclogist -at the
University of Pitisburgh and
head of Pennsylvania's state
Bureau of Health Research.

preliminary results at the
annual meeting of the
American Public Health
