That endorsation of a petition from The Corporation of the Cicy of
North Vancouver to the Minister of Municipal Affaics to designate a

portion of the City's waterfront area a Regional District Park, as

requested in a letter dated June 22nd, 1977, from that Municipality, be

tabled pending receipt of further information. Carried.

Mr. J. Sousa-re- From Mr. John Sousa, Batty's Shoe Clinic, requesting permission to

Batty's Shoe move the existing sign, which has been in place at 2670 Shaughnessy Street

Clinic

for over 30 years, to the new location of the business premises across

the street.

A discussion ensued, and Alderman Mabbett advised it is the intention

of the Public Works Committee to review the Sign By-law, as it appears

to be too restrictive in certain areas, and although it was noted that
re-location of the Sign for Batty's Shoe Clinic would be in contravention
of the By-law, the Council generally agreed that such relocation should be

permitted.

street pending the finalization of proposed revisions to the City's Sign

By~law and subject to removal if the proposed by~law amendments do not
authorize such re-lccation. Carried.
