From the Public Works Committee, August 9th, 1979 being a further Pub.Wks.Comm. re ditch 3696 Hamil-.: report on the problem of the closure of a ditch at 3696 Hamilton Street ton St. and recommending that 20 feet of pipe be installed at the Lincoln end of the ditch and that treatment of the remainder of the ditch be included in the 1980 Budget discussio.s, Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the recommendation of the Public Works Committee, August 9th, 1979 concerning the closure of the ditch at 3696 Hamilton Street for a distance of 20 feet at the Lincoln end, be approved; AND THAT the treatment of the balance of the ditch be a subject for consideration during the 1980 budget discussions. Carried. A brief dicussuion ensued prior to passage of the foregoing resolution concerning overall drainage problems in the area and their connection to the recent works of local improvement. The City Engineer provided sketch drawings of the area in question and discussed the alternative methods of correcting the problem that had been considered by the Committee. From the Public Works Committee, August 9th, 1979 regarding proposed Pub.Wks.Comn. re changes in rearrangement of access and egress in the vicinity of the Wild Duck Inn access vic. Wild Duck Inn _by the Ministry of Highways and indicating that the Ministry was requesting comments of Council concerning the proposed changes. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That with respect to the August 9th, 1979 report of the Public Works Committee concerning a request from the Ministry of Highways for comments on proprosed changes of access and egress in the vicinity of the Wild Duck Inn, the Council offers the following comments; THAT the proposal to cul-de-sac Kingsway Avenue and Trenton Street be approved; THAY it be recommended to the Ministry of Highways that an access to the Wild Duck Inn property be provided from the West side; AND THAT while the Council hag no objection to the Ministry of Highways plans for access and egress to the Lougheed Highway in this location, this matter be left for decision by the Ministry of Highways.
