TO: Mayor and Aldermen : June I7th, 1981. FROM: Community Development Committee . A meeting of the Community Development Committee was held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday June 16th, 1981. In attendance were Committee chairman Alderman MAR. Wright and members Mayor G.R. Laking and Alderman E.W. Mabbett. Alderman Muldoon was also ‘in attendance. 1. Port Moody's Golden Spike Days Bed Race The above noted subject had been referred to the Committee on June ist, 1981 and Alderman Wright reported that he had discussed this matter with Alderman Ball of Port Moody and it had been tentatively agreed that Pert Moody and Port Coquitlam would have a joint entry consisting of three Aldermen from each Municipality along with Mayor Verna Barrett of Belcarra. 2. Re: 1959 Coquitlam Avenue The City is the owner of a vacant 33 foot lot located at 1959 Coquitlam Avenue. and the owner of the 66 foot lot located to the west had requested that the City property be placed for sale in order that the owner could acquire it and create two approximate 50 foot wide lots. The Committee received an appraisal valueing the lot at $54,000.00 and it is recommended that this lot be advertised for sale at an upset price of $54,000.00. The person who initiated the inquiry will, of course, be advised that the property is now for sale. Energy Efficient Housing Renovation Material relevant to the above noted subject is attached to this memorandum and Council will recall that an application on behalf of the City to participate in this program was made sometime ago. The Committee has now determined that the sponsoring Provincial organization has reccived 52 applications and they have approval from the Provincial Treasury Board to participate in 5. There is, ‘however, a very real possibility that Port Coquitlam'’s application will be one of those chosen and the Committee has determined the details which are as follows: (a) The City would be required to supply a suitabie house which would be returned te the City upon completion of the project on March 3lst, 1484. ° The sponsoring Provincial Authority will spend any where from $30,000.00 to $50,000.09 in renovatians for energy oft tieLuney ustoy beth conservation measures and roncwib Le CMUrey . ween / 2,
