RE: 1981 Property Taxes

1. Sore 8,800 tax notices totalling just over $12 million.
have been mailed out and are due July 3, 1981. The source of
these taxes are:

Residential $8,510,220 69.6%
Utilities 1,001,201 8.2
Business & Industrial 2,660,078 21.8
Other properties incl. farms’ | 54,914 0.4

$12,226,413 100.0%

I should also point out that of the $38:3:million bilied
to occupied residential properties I. would expect the residents
themselves to pay. $5.6 million and the provincial homeowner grant
to provide $2.7 million.

2. The 'average' residential tax bill is detailed on the
attached sheet. This ‘average’ is determined from a sample of
32 homes throughout the City which are typical of their par-
ticular neighbourhocds.
