Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the City's representative discuss witu the Greater Vancouver Sewerage & Drainage District Board the problem of sewage disposal for camper units, etc., and endeavour to find a solution thereto. Carried, From Alderman E.W. Mabbett, June 12th, 1975, reporting on his attendance at the official opening of the new Co-op Mobile Home Park in Pitt Meadows, and stating he found the development, started under a Land Use Contract, to be a very ideal one. Alderman Mabbett, in his report, advised that the initial charge for a pad returnable on leaving, is $500.00, and that the monthly rental and use of a pool and community centre is about $120.00, including water, T.V. cable, and sewer. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the City's Administrative staff obtain as much data as possible on the new Co-op Mobile Home Park in Pitt Meadows. Carried. From Alderman J.J. Keryluk, commenting on May Day, 1975, and suggesting a committee should be set up by Council, including two members of Council, to take an overview of May Day and lay some ground work for next year. Alderman Keryluk pointed out, in his report, various areas where the event could be improved and he suggested that certain "foliow up" action be taken. Alderman Ranger commended Alderman Keryluk on his report and proposed the following motion: Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the recommendations contained in a report from Alderman J.J. Keryluk on Ma’ Day, 1975, be referred to the May Day Committee for comment and report back to Council. Carried. Prior to passage cf the foregoing resolution a discussion ensued, and Alderman Laking stated his understanding that there can be no debate on a motion to refer; however, Acting-Mayor Alderman Traboulay ruled that the subject could be discussed. Alderman Laking stated he would like to see the schools more invuived in the event in the future. Alderman Thompson inquired how long the Committee functions during the year, and the City Administrator advised that the Co-ordinator begins preliminary work in October of the year preceding May Day.
