THERESORE the Municipal Council of Tha Corporation of the City of Port in spen meeting assembled, enacts as follows: ATION In this 3y-law unless the context otherwise requires: (a) “Qeelling" means any building or place occupied or used aS & dwelling place or abode or place of living by not more than two families, but does not mean or include any apartment house, wayne nee 0 Ue ete KY weebhone -2- licensed boarding house, licensed tenement-house, licensed rocaing house cabins or terrace of houses respectively uncer the same roof, or any room or suite of rooms in any building containing any trade premises or any building in which more than two families live, abode, or dwell. In the case of the type of house commonly known as a “duplex" consisting of two separate and indepencent dwell ings connected perpendicularly or horizontally, each of such separate dwellings shal} constitute a "dwelling" as defined by this clause. “Apartment House” shall mean a building which is, or is intended to be, occupied as a habitation or place of residence by more than two familias living independently of one another upon the same premises; and shall also include hotel, licensed tenement-house, licensed lodging house, licensed rooming house, licensed boarding house, row of cabins, terrace of houses, and eny habitation or place of residence where more than two families live, aboce, or dwell, Notwithstanding anytning contained in the above “apartcent house” shall also include any living room or suite of rooms in any building containing any trade premises, irrespective of the numser of living, aboding cr dwelling therein. "Trade Premises" means any warehouse, factory, storage yarc, store, dump, cafe, eating house, wholesale or retail business place or office block and any building other than a dwelling or apartment house. “City Enaineer" shall mean the City Engineer of the City of Port Coquitlam, or any other official of the City, for the tine being authorized to carry out the duties ascribed to or falling upon the said City Engineer, under the provisions of this or any other By-law of the City, or otherwise.
