IN ATTENDANCE: Alderman Kathleen Muldoon Alderman Mike Gates Mr. Peter Arbuckle, representative for Techram Estates Ltd. Residents of Lancester Street, some seven persons or more, including Mr. and Mrs. L. Schmidt. Re: Treatment of Trees on PoCo Place Site, Eastern Border, and Recommendations for Future Landscaping. Members of the meeting, after viewing maps at City Hall, travelled to the site, i.e., the eastern boundary of the PoCo Place site, bounded by Lougheed Highway, Westwood Street, Kitchener Avenue, and Lancaster Street. Along the eastern borders of this property, we saw skinned and bowed-down trees in the 17? City-owned, dedication Strip, plus refuse from cut trees dumped on trees in the 17' strip. - Recommendations: 1) tt is recommended and urgently requested that: no further trees be damaged, skinned, bowed over, etc., in the 17! strip; construction workers and bulldozer operators treat trees in the 10' and 17! strips with as much care and respect as possible, with the understanding that the trees in the City~owned 17° dedication strip along Property's East boundary be untouched, unless Properly authorized. Landscaping preferences recommend: that refuse, cut logs, etc., be removed by hand immediately from on top of other foliage, trees in the 10' and 17? strips; that "low" screening material, designated to screen parking from Lancaster Street residents,-be at least 6! high and possibly consist of some relatively-inexpensive hedging material; that large poplars, 10' to 15', and large evergreens (15'+) (cedar, fir, hemlock, Spruce, etc.) be planted in the south half of 10! Strip along eastern border of Property particularly, Plus in 2 gaps in northern half of 10' strip, near point where (a) underground Hydro lines wera installed, and (b) in "gap" area just north of large tree with treehouse in it. It was hoped that staggered or alternating poplars and evergreens in 10' strip would provide a relatively-rapid, high-level
