SUBJECT: Parking Downtown Recommendation: THAT the City owned land at Kingsway and Maple be developed’ for a Parking lot at an estimated cost of $70,000.00; AND FURTHER THAT the funds be allocated for the project be on the following basis. G.M.H.C. 50% ($35,000 est.) Province . 25% ($17,500 est.) City's Urban Renewal Reserve 25% ($17,500 est.) Background and Comments: With reference to the memorandum from the City Engineer under date of 1981 09 25 xX woulda advise: i. The City is not required to replace the spaces removed from the Fire Hall parking lot when the new road was put through. The City has enough off-street parking spaces available to cover these rented to the merchants. With reference to the Urban Renewal project I would recommend that the City make use of the program and draw to your attention that all work must be done and billed to C.M.H.C., and the Province by the end of March 1982.
