Eng., FILE: PWC City Engineer SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR SIDEWALK - WOODLAND & PATRICIA (Pablic Works Committee Meeting of May 25, 1993) RECOMMENDATION: 1) That Council approve the installation of 90 metres of sidewalk complete with a catch basin at the south east comer of Woodland Drive and Patricia Avenue at an estimated cost of $22.600. That $22,600 be allocated from the Special Public Works Capital Reserve Fund. BACKCROUND & COMMENTS: A traffic circle has been installed at Patricia Avenue and Murchie complete with pedestrian crossings. Also there is an existing sidewalk on the east side of Woodland Avenue from Kitchener to a point approximately 40 metres south of Patricia Avenue. In order to improve pedestrian safety in the area, it is recommended that a concrete sidewalk be instalied for a distance of 90 metres along the south side of Pairicia Avenue and the east side of Woodland Drive in order to connect the existing sidzwaik .o the pedestrian crossing at Murchie and Tuohey as shown in the attached memo dated May 10, 1993.
