Prior to the question being called on the foregoing proposed resolution, a discussion ensued, and Alderman Keryluk, in referring to Items (3) and (6) of Appendix "A" attached to the proposed policy, stated his concern in the case of the former (where the City would be 100% responsible for Mainten-— ance and Capital Works) in that problems may arise in the future with respect to the stability of Oxford Street, while in the case of the latter (where the District would be 100% responsible) the section of Lincoln Avenue involved serves the District almost exclusively. Alderman Traboulay commented that the District could move te undertake capital works on Victoria Drive (for which the City is 50% responsible) and thus place the City in an unfavourable position if an unforseen problem arose on Oxford Street. Alderman Laking spoke to the division of Maint:enance and Capital Works, and stated he felt for this to be on more equal terms, the District should assume 100% of the res~ ponsibility for Victoria Drive if the City is prepared to assume 100% of the responsibility for Oxford Street. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Aiderman Laking: That the "Policy for Division of Responsibility for Maintenance and Improvement of Inter-Municipal Boundary Roads between the District of Coquitlam and the City of Port Coquitlam", dated February 23rd, 1976, re- ferred to in the foregoing proposed resolution, be amended by deleting the figures '100%' where they appear in Appendix "A" attached to the said Policy and inserting the figures '50Z' in their place, Withdrawn. A discussion ensued, and Alderman Mabbett stated his view that although the District has a fairly high priority on Victoria Drive, repaving should not be undertaken until all services such as water mains, sewer mains, etc., have been installed.
