POUND OPERATION YEARLY SERVICE REPORT PORT COQUITLAM YEAR ~- 1978 GENERAL REMARKS: The following ts a breakdown of the results of the Antmal Control Faetlity during the year 1978, Whitst complaints remained virtually the sane as the previous uear, 469 dogs were impounded which ta an tnerease of 26 over the previous year. The claiming of 265 dogs shoved a veduetion in the claim rate during 1978 as opposed to 1977. Itis duly noted that during the months of September, October, and November that the number o f dogs destroued through the pound operation showed a marked increase oven any other month in the Previous 2 vears, the question ts why, and tt is felt that maybe the economy may have been responstble. Income derived during the vear was very much in line with that achteved during 1977. fhe number of animals destroued as surplua to hwnan requirements have shown a great decrease, and it is sincerely hoped that in 1979 this will be reflected in the number of complaints and tmpoundnents ,
