A brief discussion on general problems of the area ensued. Alderman Mabbett announced that the funds had been received from Victoria for the Prairie Avenue improvments. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the amount of $50,000. for the improvement and development of Kingsway Avenue be replaced in the Budget; AND THAT the Port Coquitlam Industrial Association be so notified. Carried. Alderman Mabbett gave a brief report on the trip he and Alderman Keryluk made to Victoria and indicated his opinion that the visit had been most successful, with the main subject of discussion being the Mary Hill By-pass. Alderman Thompson advised that the Environmental Protection Committee had met to consider two applications for Community Care Facilities within the City, namely, a personal care home at 1584 Mary Hill Road and a family day care facility at 917 Richmond Place, and were recommending approval of the two applications.
