~?— To. sum up the convention, I would say that, the sharing of information with clected Municipal officials from other areas of Canada is of great benefit. However that is not the only reason you expend. time and money to attend. the F.C.M. I have been greatly concerned about our City remaining a member in this organization for a number of years. Whether it is just too combersome trying to take in the. whole of Canada under one umbrella, I don't know. Maybe the idea of a Western and Eastern organization would help. I don't like one of the ideas being studied where they become part of or associated with our ow local Provincial group (U.B.C.M.) At this time I. would recommend to Council that we not continue as a member of T.C.M., but that we monitor the operation, and hope that the new executive. are able to turn the operation around so that it can be heard in Ottawa and their recommendations for the improvement of. the many items needed can be acted upon by the Feds. Io must mention the fact that the City of Regina was an. excellent host. It was the best organized convention from the social side for the ladies and the clected officials T have ever attended. ‘I wish I could have said that for the business section of the -convention. Respectfully submitted, E.W. Mabbett, EWM/al Alderman
