SUBJECT: U-Turn Signs on Shaughnessy Street -
Public Works Committee, October 7, 1986

Recommendation:

That the "No U-Turn" signs on Shaughnessy Street between
Pitt River Road and Witson Avenue be removed. cok

Background and Comments:

A complaint was received by the Committee about the visual
clutter caused by the "No U-Turn" signs posted at each
intersection along Shaughnessy Street between Pitt River Road
and. Wilson Avenue. The Committee sees no value In having
Shaughnessy Street posted for no u-turns as compared to all the
other streets within the City which do not have these signs.
Aside from the visual clutter, the signs require periodic
maintenance at some expense to the City. The Committee felt
that if these signs at some time had scme validity, they are no

longer .necessary.
