Prior to passage ef the foregoing resolution, a. brief discussion ensued , and |
Alderman ‘Thompson suggested that possibly a barberry hedge. could be planted along.

the South boundary of the Park abutting the tracks, which would be more attractive

‘than a fence; also, children would be reluctant to ) chimb or go through that type

' of shrub. Alderman Laking agreed, pointing | out that if the hedge was planted

there would be no necessity for a (gate as would be required if a fence was construc-

ted.

Alderman Mabbett then referred to the subject of. noise emanating from the

C.P.R. Yards caused by constant shunting back and forth, as was discussed at last

week's meeting, pointing out that the City does have an Anti-Noise By-~law,. and

‘suggesting that the Railway Company could remind its employees to use a little

more care,

- That a letter be sent. to Mr. Be E. uilling, Superintendent, Canadian Pacific

Railway Company, advising that. a constant banging noise emanating from the C.P.R.

Yards in Port Coquitlam was note ed on the dates and times as set forth hereunder,

and requesting that this nuisance be Anvestigated:
