THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM BY-LAW NO. 1393 A By-law to dedicate certain real property owned by The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam as a Nature Area. WHEREAS the real property hereinafter more particularly described is owned by The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam; AND WHEREAS pursuant to Section 468 of the “Municipal Act" being Chapter 255 of the Revised Statutes of British Columbia, 1960, as amended, the Council of a city municipality may, without the assent of the electors, by by-law dedicate for any public purpose any real property owned by the municipality that is of an area of an acre or less; AND WHEREAS the real property hereinafter described has an area of Jess than one acre; ' AND WHEREAS it is deemed in the public interest to dedicate the real. property hereinafter described as a Nature Area; NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows: l. the real property hereinafter described which is owned by The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam and situate within the municipal limits of the City of Port Coquitlam and in the New Westminster Land Registration District is hereby dedicated as a Nature Area: Parcel "E" (By~law Plan 46147) North-west Quarter Section 6, Township 40, Plan 2291 . 2. The real property described in Section 1 hereof shall be managed and maintained by the Council for the use, recreation and enjoyment of the public and, subject to Section 3 hereof, the Council has and may exercise therein all the powers and authorities conferred on the Council with respect to public parks or pleasure grounds by the Municipal Act or other Act of the Legislature or as is normally vested in Trustees of public parks or pleasure grounds. 3. The real property described in Section 1 hereof shall be maintained in its natural state insofar as it is possible so to do and except for the purpose of advancing its use as a Nature Area no development work of any kind whatsoever shall take place therein. , 4. This By-law may be cited for all purposes as the "Nature Area Dedication By-law, 1975, No. 1393".
