The property is located South of the southern end of Eastern Drive east of Mary Hill Road and would permit the immediate development of the property for residential purposes, A letter was received from Rob Robertson, 1315 Eastern Drive advising that the ‘Mary Hill Residential Group' would be in attendance for the Public a Hearings regarding Bylaw #2352 and Bylaw # 2353. 6 A 29 signature petition was received from residents of Mary Hill Road aad f ‘ Elinor Crescent outlining their concerns regarding the proposed development: ae 1. The area suffers from poor drainage facilities and pools of water are a year round feature of Mary Hill Road. A small stream follows the right of way down towards Mary Hill Road and attractive feature a worthy of preservation. | 2. The Poco trail is thought by many to follow the right of way. The right of way in its relatively undeveloped state offers a unique area for walking and hiking. i. 3/4. There are uo parks in the area, the closest being Routley Park. Difficult for children to cross unsupervised. Concerned about the increase of traffic in the area. ms 56 Traffic following the lane between Mary Hili Road and Eiinor often wt continues to the end before realizing the lane ends at the right of way. Additional development will probably increase this traffic. There is also the problem of dirt bikes coming through at high speeds. 6. There is a suggestion that the right of way may be used as an : emergency access lane. We are concerned that this would become a area for dirt bikes without proper restrictions. There is no reason why the potential developer's land could not be used for this rather than encroach upon the natural state of the right of way.
