Pynenburg PROJECT: #313 Project Technician ADDITIONAL CHAINLINK FRANCE AT PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE - CHDAR DR. & LYNWOOD Install sti: dard chainlink fence at either end of pedestrian bridge crossing Cedar ditch, at Cedar and Lynwood at a cost of $1350. Aitached is a memo from Steve Brown, assistant operations manager, recommending that a wing fence be installed at the pedestrian bridge approaches at Cedar Dr. and Lynwood. This is in response to a letter received from a resident of the Lynwood Avenue area concerned with the safety of pedestrians using the bridge. The bridge was originally constructed to assist in the Support of water and sanitary services installed in 1979 to service Lynwood Ave residents. These services must cross Cedar ditch to connect to existing mains.(See Fig.l & 2) Pedestrian traffic has increased in this area since 1979 and therefore warrants improved safety measures, There are two options that would Satisfy the recommendation of the assistant operations manager: I, Install four wing fences at either end of the approaches to the foot bridge according to Poco std. dwg. 304, Cast of 4 wing fences = $2,000.00 Install chainlink fences along approaches to the foot bridge according to Poco std. dwg. 308. Cost of chainlink fence approx. 10m @ $135/m= $1,350.00 Both options would upgrade the present foot bridge to higher safety standards. Option 2, however, is the less expensive choice.
