City Engineer SUBJECT: Request to hold Neighbourhood Party 1200 Block Yarmouth Street (Public Works Committee June 2, 1988) RECOMMENDATION: That the request to hold a neighbourhood party in the 120C block Yarmouth Street be approved and that the City Engineer be authorized to supply the necessary barricades and flashers to the organizers. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: The attached letter from Mrs. Delaney was considered by the Committee. The request to hold neighbourhood parties is familiar to Council. In these cases, once Councils! approval! is obtained the organizers are advised that the City crews will be dropping off barricades and flashers at a convenient location in the boulevard the Friday before the party. It willl be up to the organizers to properly erect and dismantie The barricades and ¢lashers. The traffic control devices will be subsequently picked up by City crews the following Monday. Mrs. Delaney has changed the date for this neighbourhood party to July 23, 1988 and if weather is unsuitable on that day the party will be rescheduled for July 30, 1988.
