Only ata couple of locations doors appear to have been cut to £4t the door frame. FLOOR JOISTS and COLUMNS. Second ficer and roof joists were - exposed and inspected at several locations at @ach #loor level. Thev all are in good conditions. All columns inside the building ar also in " good: condition " ; EXTERNAL STAIR=-CASES. The two external stair~cases on the East & North side have deteriorated beyond repair due to weathering and little or no maintenance. OBSERVATIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS The base sill plates and some of the studs on South side must be removed and replaced. We feel that the Principal cause of deterioration of the base sill plates is " continuous damp conditions" , because of the base plates being generally below orade level. All base sill. plates ( on North & East sides ) must be exposed and inspected during repair work. The new base sill plates must either be treated timber or ( preferably ) the perimeter concrete wall must he raised a minimum of 6-8 inches above grade level.
