RECOMMENDATION : H

‘That the Parks. & Recreation Committee invite Betty Nickerson to
‘make a presentation to the City Council on the concept of a
cultural and artistic centre for this area.

"BACKGROUND & COMMENTS :

"he Parks & Recreation Committee at their February lst, 1984,
meeting met with Betty Nickerson, President of the Fine Arts 43
“Building Society. Ms Nickerson went over the concept of what
their society is locking at in terms of a "creative centre" for
District #43... One of their major requirements initially is. that
they require a’commitment of land. The Committee discussed some
possible sites. The Committee decided that it was important for
oMs. Nickerson to make a presentation to the total Council on the
“concept. of the. building and possible funding sources. Attached
is a flyer that the Society has been distributing to various -
persons in District. ‘#43.
