Dylan Perron et Elixir de Gumbo (Quebec)
The festival's outdoor stage will open for this 26th edition to the irre- -
sistible rhythms of the Dylan Perron et Elixir de Gumbo project. Winner
of the 2015 Francouvertes, contest in Montreal, Dylan Perron et Elixir
de Gumbo is a delightful blend of bluegrass, folk and rhythmic blues
played on harmonica, double bass, banjo, mandolin and other instru-
ments. With over 200 performances across Canada, France and Swit-
zerland, these artists who hail from Abitibi-Témiscamingue, a region of
Quebec’s Northwest, launched in 2014 their first album “Hamérricana’:
They promise to get the evening started with a high-voltage perfor-
mance.

Karim Ouellet (Quebec)

A sure-fire hit with festival-goers in the second half of the evening
concert, pop singer-songwriter-composer Karim Ouellet is a versatile
artist and DJ, whose masterful fusion of different musical genres runs
the gamut of electro, reggae, rock, and soul, all with grace and aban-
don. He is acclaimed by his own generation for his lyrics, and his com-
positions and arrangements have won over fans in Canada and France.
Originally from Dakar in Senegal, Karim Ouellet lives in Quebec, where
he grew up. The Vancouver Festival d’été francophone is proud to pre-
sent this talented artist in his first-time appearance on stage in British
Columbia. This polyglot artist who knows no borders has hit the bull’s
eye at the very heart of new francophone vocal music, with more than
200 concerts throughout the francophone world, performing alongside
artists like Stromae and OneRepublic. He won the 2014 JUNO award
