Ravens then beat Nishga 66-52 with Ryan Leighton leading the winners with 20 points. For Nishga it was Floyd Stevens with 15. In the final ‘A’ pool contest, Ravens outscored Williams Lake 58-54. Leighton again topped - the scoring with 24, while David Cook pumped in 22. In the ‘B’ pool, Skeena Tsimpseans started with a 63-36 victory over Bella Coola. Gary Edgar had 19 points in a losing cause, while Mike Parker paced Skeena with a dozen. Skeena then took on Kitimat and beat them 60-20. Skeena got... 15 points from Paul Manhas to lead the way. Mike Serry was Kitimat’s best with six. Kitimat moved into the semi- finals by downing Bella Coola 51-46. Rob Teves scored 16 for the winners. Gary Edgar had 23. for the losers. : In the consolation game, Nishga defeated Bella Coola 102-62 as Steve McKay netted 46 points. Edgar had 27 for Bella Coola. In the semi-finals it was Ravens (first in ‘A’) versus Kitimat (second in ‘B’), plus Skeena (first in ‘B’) versus Williams Lake (second in ‘A’). Ravens took an early lead and went on to beat Kitimat 57-34. Teves of Kitimat was high scorer with 18, Troy Werrel had 17 for Ravens. In a low-scoring match, Williams Lake moved into the ' final by downing Skeena 30-25. Dave Cook had 18 for the Lakers, while Kannin Osei-Tutu and Mike Parker had six each for Skeena. The playoff for third and fourth was another low-scoring contest as Skeena beat Kitimat 28-24, Skeena’s Paul Manhas and Kitimat’s Mike Serry each had six points, The championship game had Ravens take a 29-25 lead at the half and go on to beat Williams Lake 59-44. Ryan Leighton led the winners with 19. Par Jahal and David Cook had 13 each for the losers. Cook was named the most valuable player of the tourna- ment. Bella Coola took home the sportsmanlike team award. Because Ravens’ coach Simp- son felt his win was a team ef- fort, he asked that none of his players be selected as all-stars.
