TAA healt De asira don anal atcha atte Salk tee elume ue es 7 OU) MEMORANDUM MAR 2 4 1980 Mayor and Council March 20th, 1980. Environmental Protection Committee Grant House -— 1948 Grant Avenue Last year Council approved a Community Care Facilities licence for Mr. & Mrs. Burton at 1948 Grant Avenue to operate a home for up to six ex Riverview patients. The home has been cperating satisfactorily and has had the maximum 6 occupants from time to time since last September. In speaking to some of the residents and the Department of Health representatives the home seems to have fit into the area without any problems and there have been no complaints. The Burtons would now like to increase their licence from 6 to the maximum of 10 occupants permitted under our zoning by-law. In order to.do this it would require an addition to their house of about 18 x 20 feet and this will enable them to remodel the interior to create living accomodations so that the Burtons can remain in residence to supervise the operation cf the home. A report from Mary Kendall the supervisor from the Ministry of Health is attached and the Committee has ntoified the residents of the area that the increased licence is under review by Council. The addition to the home will have to meet the requirements of the Fire Marshalls Act and the Building Code however, subject to this the Committee would recommend the request for an increase from 6 to 10 patients be approved.
