The 2nd Annual Woss Lake Loggers’ Sports Day will be held June 14, at Camp Woss, Vancouver Island. Invitations are being for- warded to many of the top competitors of the Canadian- U.S. Pacific Northwest, in- cluding winners of the 1968 PNE Festival of Forestry, and Ed Roberts, last year’s Woss winner of the Pierre Paris Memorial Trophy for “Best Logger of the Year”, and the THE WESTERN CANADIAN LUMBER WORKER Canadian Forest Products Ltd. trophy for “Best Al Round Novice”. Money and Trophies Prize money, totalling $1,800 in cash and trophies, will be raised in part through community activities and busi- ness donations. Canadian Forest Products Ltd. the major employer in the area has already pledged financial ‘support to the Sports Day, which last year attracted an WOSS LAKE TOHOLD LOGGERS' SPORTS DAY estimated 1,500 people from Island and mainland points. Rules governing most events have been adopted from those used by the PNE committee. The Loggers Ball, climax to the days activities, will be sponsored by the Vernon Lake Sports and Social Club and will be held in the Ver- non Lake Community Hall.
