Public Works Committee Meeting ~ 2 - March 24, 1972. Any signs which the applicant wishes to Place on the Lougheed Highway will have to he cleared through the Department of Highways. Any signs to be placed on private property would of course have to be cleared with the owners of the properties and would have to be in conformance with the City Sign Regulation By-law. Further to the above the traffie oc ommittee suggest that the following points require clarification by th e Municipal Council. (I) The epplicant has requested that the city supply.and install the requested signs. Would the Municipal Council feel that ° this is a request for a grant. (IT) The applicant has requested that the signs be placed on public ; road and the Municipal Council has requested that the Traffic Committee determine suitable sites for the proposed signs on City owned property. The Municipal Council might wish to consider the principle of permitting signs advertising private businesses being placed either on public road or City owned property. :
