GLENDA S. CHUBATY 1819 Western Drive Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 2X4 April 10, 1992 LR. ZAHYNACZ, P. ENG. City Engineer City of Port Coquitlain 2580 Shaughnessy Street Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 2A8 Dear Sir: RE: Dangerous Intersection @ Western Drive & Mary Hill Road The residents of 1966 and 1970 Mary Hill Road have been parking their cars and vans in the front of their homes which blocks the sight of oncoming vehicles for the intersection at Western Drive (see attached sketch). The problem is twofold. Firstly, there isn’t any curb or boulevard on Mary Hill Road, so the vehicles are parked right up to the curb that turns around the corner from Western Drive. Secondly, both Mary Hill Road and Western Drive are coming downhill at this point, so the sight distance is not good in the best of circurnstances. | There is a stop sign at Western Drive, but you have’ to pull way out into the intersection to see if there is any oncoming cars which is extremely dangerous, as the cars coming down Mary Hill Road have the right-of-way as it is not an intersection, just one feeder drive coming into another, and so are not expecting cars coming on to them. The problem would be expedited if a no parking sign was erected on the comer, back to a reasonable distance so that cars stopping at Western could proceed onto Mary Hill Road without praying. Yours very truly, oe He Mrs. G. Chubaty fa ee rai i ny Ke ‘A
