Made of Clay 2003 May 2-4 Performance Works on Granville Island The spaces for the spring show are again going fast. At the time of writing, I've already received eight submissions, only a week since the applications were sent out. If you are thinking about presenting, it would be wise to send in your application ASAP. I'm glad to announce that I will not be alone on the organizing committee this year. Jinny Whitehead and Pia Sillem will be on the Committee and Amanda Baye, our publicist from the last Christmas show, will do publicity. I really look forward to having the help that will, no doubt, expand our promotion. [f anyone else would like to get involved, please contact us. There is always something that can be done. These group shows thrive best when everyone presenting is doing their best to get the word oul, Happy pots to you all. February 2003 Golden Jubilee 2005 In 2005 the Potters Guild of BC celebrates 50 years of mud and fire! A group of potters in atin hut at the University of BC managed to form a group that has actively educated both potters and the public for five decades. Since inception, the Guild has brought intermational potters to share their skills with BC's clay artisans. Some members have work in the world's major ceramic collections; others like myself are happy Sunday potters, No matter the level, the Guild has been a network connecting potters throughout the province, both pro- fessionally and personally. This may have something to do with our predilection for potlucks. Your memories, ideas for exhibitions and/ or workshops and your energy are all needed to kick off the Golden Jubilee. We will be holding a meeting to brainstorm amd start our working committees on Sat- urday, March 8 from | 1: 00,AM to 1:00PM at the Arts Alliance, Suite #100 - 938 Howe Street (between Nelson & Smythe). This is a potluck lunch so bring something for the tabi!
