L.3,DL4,P1.15843, & Ptns.L6,etc. DL. 465, P1.910 June 21st, 1976 From the Public Works Committee, June 18th, 1976 advising that with respect to the lack of care shown by pedestrians in the vicinity of bus stops at McAllister and Shaughnessy, the Committee has no suggestions or recommendations. In speaking to the Committee's report Alderman Mabbett noted that the jaywalking problem in the downtown area appeared to be on the increase and, additionally, the courtesy of drivers in crcesswalk areas is declining and Acting-Mayor Alderman Traboulay suggested that perhaps the R.C.M.P. could review the traffic situation in this respect and more particularly in the area of the Shaughnessy-Elgin intersection. The report was then received for information. From the City Clerk, June 15th, 1976 setting out a Summer Meeting Schedule for Council's consideration. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the Summer Meeting Schedule as recommended by the City Clerk, 15th, 1976 and set out below, be approved: June 28th, 1976 -meeting as usual July 5th, 1976 -no meeting July 12th, 1976 -meeting as usual July 19th, 1976 ~no meeting (a quorum of Council will not be available) July 26th, 1976 -no meeting (a quorum of Council will not be available) August 2nd, 1976 -Statutory Holiday. However, it is recommended that a meeting be held on Tuesday, August 3rd, 1976. August 9th, 1976 -~no meeting. August 16th, 1976 -meeting as usual August 23rd, 1976 -no meeting August 30th, 1976 -meeting as usual September 6th, 1976 -Statutory Holiday - no meeting September 13th, 1976 -meeting as usual. During discussion of the resolution some concern was expressed as to the length of time between meetings in July and Acting~-Mayor Alderman Traboulay suggested that the schedule could be flexible in that should a quorum be available the schedule could be adjusted accordingly.
