V3C 3B8 Attention: Janna Taylor, Director of Parks & Recreation. Dear Ms Taylor, rea; Riverwood Community School Site Development Geotechnical Report. Further to our telephone conversation with reference to the Geotechnical Report prepared by Golder Associates Ltd., with reapact to the s0il conditions in the Riverwood School site development area. The geotechnical site review was undertaken at the request of the City Engineering Department to provide input for the feasibility assessment for construction of a National Standard 400 4etre Running Track and Field Event Facilities at the proposed school site location. The scope of the review was limited to providing comments for conceptual planning related to the site preparation for construction of the track and field facility. No site investigation, sampling or testing of the seil or ground water at the site was carried cut specifically for the present feasibility assessment. The comments presented in the report are based on limited available soil information from previous soils investigations carried out in the Port Coquitlam area and geotechnical data derived from projects in the vicinity of the gite which gives an indication of the probable soil conditions existing in the area of this particular site. As requested we have met with Mr. Colin L. Y¥. Wong, P. Eng. of Golder Associates to review his report and the probable soil and ground water conditions which exist at the site and to address the potential settlement problems which would have to be considered for the design and construction of the track and field facilities. There are a number of foundation treatment optiors which will allow achievement of the 1 - 1000 differential settlement tolerance for the track and field facility which are outlined in the geotechnical report. Other options will be apparent when further site investigations are completed. In the design considerations for construction of the running track any foundation treatment required will be confined to the area of the running track only and not necessarily to the remaining open space areas available for ar Sate Toe and park uses.
