of errors. First ana foremost, Sally
Michener poines out thar she is not the only
ceramic artist to have had a solo exhibition
atthe VAG. Ron Wallis’ Corner Chair was
amuch kinder, gentler column chan the
draft [ accidentally typed in! Gillian
McMillan did correce all the spelling &
grammar errors, but [ didn't hit the ‘save’
key after entering the corrections inte the
computer. Mea culpa, mea culpa...

*=*The Newsletter committee had, after a
long hiatus, a long and productive meecing.
Our biggest aoal is co make che newsletter
more relevant to potters outside the Lower
Mainland. Any guilds our there, please
send us pour newsletter. [f you have shows
or workshops you wane listed in che Everes
Calendar (which will come out every 3
months), send chem to us. The next
Events Calendar will be in the June issue of
the Newsletter, but you can also have your
events publicized in the Unclassifieds.

To avoid che errors char lase minute
publishing produces, the deadline will now
be firmly adhered co. To be guaranteed a
spot, anything you want in the newsletter
must be in by che second Wednesday of the
month. After that, you take your chances,
dependent on space and my tardiness!

General Manager's Report:

Members equity up by $4000. Gallery sales
for December down by 6% from [996
Robere Kell to do year-end audit.

Janet Turpin put in many hours on
financial stacementcs.

Jane to be juror for Vancouver Outdoor
Exhibition,

Approx. $600 left from lase summer's
‘shard’ sale. ‘Will be spent upgrading
computer & purchase of microwave ar cost.
Ronda Green is organizing guild socials,
suggests a “how do they do that! event ac
Capilano College and a summer Clay
Olymptes pocluck picnic. First social had
over &) people artending. Thanks Ronda.
North Wese Ceramic Foundation Report:
reported on progress for Lottery for Poctery,
space is booked ar Roundhouse, Katherine
Gretsinger will co-host with James Barber as
strong possibiliry. Book participants will be
asked to donate pots. Vancouver Island
people can give cheir ports co Frank Turco
or Pay Hickey.

Book Report:

70 people have completely sent in all info,
others will be reminded to do so. Linda is
sending co-publishing proposal to three
publishers, We have raised $18,00 so far.

The Newslecter is published 10 times yearly as an information link for members. Submissions of articles, lemers and
anything else of interest are happily received and should be submitted by the 2nd Wednesday of any month. Unclassifieds and
articles may be edited for space needs. The fax number is 604/669 - 5627.

so will exter deadline to Feb, 16, Slides or
photo okay for jurving.

Made of Clay:

Invitations are ready. 16 booths are rented.
Darrel is ordering poles and drapes.
Workshops:

Registration is on for Svend Bayer and Greg
Payee. Paul Lewing from Searcle will give
workshop at Mudslingers. Aaron Nelson
will take over organizing workshops.
Newsletter:

Mudslingers will make a calendar of BC
clay workshops and openings to be inserted
every three months into newsletter.

Gallery Commitee:

Laura & Jane are painting plinths and
considering the rearrangement of gallery
space.

New Board Members:

Current members were urged to call
possible. Members leaving are June, Fay,
Linda, Deborah, & possibly Ron. We
could consider inviting representatives from
other guilds to sit on the board.

Next meeting to be held March 19th

All Members: you are most welcome to
attend any board meetings, where you can
share your ideas and insights on the
agenda items. If you are interested in a
particular committee, you are very
welcome to join it and add your energy to
that area.
