on Dam I am in agreement with the opinion of your ratepayers that these pumping facilities were inadequate to cope with the storm of July 12th, To illustrate ~ these PUBS probably have suffictent capacity to remove the equivalent of just under 1 inch of water over the drainage areas in 24 hours. Prom newspaper stories on this particular storm, I think it is quite possible that there may have been something like 3 to 5 inches of rain in your area over about a 30 hour period centering on July 12th, The puros could not cope with a rainfall of this magnitude with the result that ditches quickly filled up and overflowed « thereby causing flooding in adjacent low areas, Both pumps operated continuously &1ll1 through the storm and afterwards until this flooding situation wag relieved, I would, therefore, refute any suggestion that lack of maintenance of the pumps, and of the ditches was a factor in the Tlooding that occurred &8 &@ result of this particular storn, Both pumps functioned continously and without breakdown or other troubles, They were discharging all the water that they had ability to discharge, Yours truly, Satta ed oe WR.
