RE: MERIDIAN VILLAGE, PORT COQUITLAM Gentlemen: We have had a few applications for tenancy in Meridian Village from persons in receipt of Social Assistance who are resident in areas other than Port Coquitlam. Being cognisant that this may involve the City in extra costs, we have discouraged these applicants pending a ruling on this matter, even though some of the requests show an extreme need for housing. Our stated policy has always been to give priority to Port Coquitlam residents regardless of their financial status, however, one of our prime objectives is to provide housing to residents of the Greater Vancouver Regional District under the same guidelines. i } ! i !
