the Downtown merchants! Association. A decision fram. that meetina was
that the merchants would tax themselves IN,ANN dollars to review and’
revise the old scheme. That task hss now been completed and the
Merchants' Association are preparing to proreed to the next stan. A
requirement of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs is that the merehants
have the City's support of their plan. This memorandum jis heino
submitted to City Council to request that approval in princinte mf Fhe
concept plan along with it expenditure estimates... After ity CAunnil
has extended its approval the plan will he submitted to the Ministry
of Municipal Affairs for their approval] in principle. Anae the
Ministry's approval hes been granted, it is .recommended that a public
information meeting be held to determine the profert's Jevel nf
