Re: G.V.R.D. Meeting - October 2nd, 1974

We brought up the $3,000.00 at the Hospital District meeting and

received very little sympathy. I most certainly think that it is

a bad omen that they will not assume their responsibility.

Noise Control - as per usual, we have gone for another study so I

have. reason to believe that this will be a long time in coming.

Labour Relations - hired 7 additional staff and will take on the
complete function for many municipalities for negotiations and
classifications. .

I am enclosing an item on the University Endowment Lands and I think
we as a Council should make a stand one way or the other on the
controversy of the matter. Many Councils have stated their desire
that it remain as a park; therefore, I would like a motion either
for or against so that we can give our opinion.

I am enclosing a report from Mr. W.G. Hardwick, Chairman, to the
GVRD Policy Review and Finance Committee. I would like to have
your opinion on the suggestions made by Mr. Hardwick re election

of one-quarter of the membership board at large. I would like

Council's opinion on this matter as I believe a decision should be

made before this election.
