MEMORANDUM ’ \ C TO: Mayor and Council AUG 13 1979 FROM: L.D. Pollock ‘City Administrator. J Some time apo, Council dealt with the request from the Lutheran Church on York Street, to have their existing property rezoned to P-2 to enable them to construct a new Church Building. The present lot configuration, in this area, is a series of large lots and the Planning and Zoning Committee suggests that, if the Church proceeded to build on it's present site, it might make the future sub-division of the adjacent lands difficult. Meetings were held with the Church and with the Developer interested in the sub-division of the adjacent lands and a plan was devised whereby the Church could be relocated on a new site and leave access for the sub-division of the remaining land. As the servicing costs were quite extensive, if regular sub-division was permitted, it was suggested that RS-1-A, small lot zoning be utilized in order to permit the economical development of the land. A plan of the area is attached which I believe is in accordance with Council's discussion with the Church and the Developer and shows the relocated Church site and adjacent sub- division development.” The Clerk has prepared the necessary road “exchange by-law to exchange a portion of Grant Avenue for a road leading out on to York Street. If Council conenrrs with the proposal, the road exchange by-law can be . arted and this will be followed by the necessary. zoning amendment by-law. .
